Kicking off Armchair BEA! Woohoo!!

May 23rd, 2011 Everyday, everything

After many scheduling conflicts and too many snow days my plans to actually attend BEA in New York had to be changed.  I was a bit disappointed as I had heard that if you do one book conference as a blogger, this was the ONE!  I had happened to stumble across the Armchair BEA site and began to get really excited for the opportunity to connect with and learn (I am pretty darn new to the whole bloggy world) from so many wonderful book bloggers, authors and publishers without having to leave my house (and kiddos).

Anyway…if you are new to my site via Armchair BEA (or any other means) WELCOME!!  I am so glad you stopped by and I really look forward to meeting you!! :)

Here are some things about me that you may, or may not care to know:

*My real name is Colleen, my alter-ego is Cici

*I am a stay-at-home mom to three kids, two boys, 13 and 11, and one little girl, 6.

*I used to (and sometimes still do) fantasize about being in the CIA and never in my wildest dreams ever imagined I would be married or have children…

*I really enjoy reading.  I read a little bit of everything and have even told myself I will read a sci-fi book this year.  I can’t help but love an author who conjures up a character that I absolutely love and can relate to.

*I am grew up in Elkhorn, WI up until I joined the Navy and saw the world.  Well, not really the world, but more like the east coast and midwest (go figure).  But I loved my time in the Navy and all the people that I met and I plan to write a little book about it sometime…but it will be more in the way of a romance type novel (yeah, my Navy time was chock full of good stuff, not my good stuff necessarily, but boy, did I see a lot! :).

*After leaving WI, I lived in all of the following states in order…WA, FL, TN, VA, FL, TX, OK, RI, IL…finally back to my current home in Oklahoma City, OK.

*I love chocolate and caramel.  I believe there is children’s chocolate and mommy chocolate and I really don’t like to share my mommy chocolate.  I also don’t like to be bothered when I am enjoying my mommy chocolate!  I would rather read a good book and have a great piece of chocolate rather than do any form of housework.  That’s why my house is a mess and I carry a little extra junk in the trunk 😉

*I like to laugh and have fun and try very hard to have a comedic, uplifting tone in most of my posts.  I like to have fun and when I get really stressed out I tend to use comedy to deal with it.  Every one in a while I come up with an incredible one-liner and usually it is when nobody is really around to share it with, so you may often find me laughing at a joke all by myself. 😉

*You can always find me on “The Twitter” tweeting away @cicistheories

Just a few items to add to your useless trivia pile.  I look forward to this week’s exciting Armchair BEA and I also look forward to making many wonderful connections this week!  Be sure to keep checking back to keep up with all that is going on!!
