Sunday Stew {7}

Happy Sunday! Welcome for the Sunday Stew, a weekly meme graciously hosted by Shannon over at Books Devoured. It’s a great way to take a look at what other blogs have going on around them and I find it usually introduces me to some great people and happenings around the web! Feel free to pop on over to Shannon’s and join in the Stew!

Bookmark of the Week:

This week my bookmark has been my package of Post-it flags for my Twilight book and a post-it flag for the other books I have been reading.  You see, I have been reading along Twilight again with GReads and friends and have decided to flag all the quotes, scene and such that I love and some that I don’t really care for.

Yeah, I know, I used quite a few flags…

Around the Web:

I wanted to take this week and introduce you to a couple of my Twitter/Bloggy pals.  First up is Vivienne over at My Real Life Parenting.  I absolutely love reading this blog and knowing that I am not alone in my parenting adventures.  I have found that a lot of parents connect and support each other almost too much during the toddler years and come the teen years, everyone has the perfect life.  Well, Vivienne has been someone that I have found to be real, honest and supportive.  Parenting is hard work.  Teens are hard work.  There are many trials and many wonderful celebrations.  I suggest you pop on over and give her a look.  I have found her to be a friend and a great support network.  I am always amazed at how people are brought together.

Another great Twitter/Bloggy pal is Jimmy over at Founding A Father.  I love reading his posts about his family, fatherhood and being a husband.  He is quite witty and fun.  I have often read his posts and laughed, knowing that he is just a typical guy (just like my husband) and so I either let things go, or smack both him and my husband :)  We can often be found horsing around on Twitter, feel free to join in!  I often find that Jimmy and his other Daddy blogging buddies have me out-numbered!  Jimmy and I threw an idea out there for a little joint adventure and I am really hoping we can pull it together!  Be certain I will let you know when it comes about!!

Around Me:

Holy cow…what a week!  My husband and sons went away for the week to Scout camp.  I was so grateful to be home in the air conditioning as it was over 100 degrees ALL week!  It was a wonderful opportunity for my daughter and I to have some special time together.  We had lots to do and she made sure I didn’t slack on anything!  We shoe shopped, book shopped, did our nails, watched a movie in bed with popcorn, went to dinner, had dessert EVERY night, organized, painted, read and went to Barnes and Noble to listen to Tara Hudson read from Hereafter.  We also got our copy signed and she even signed Catherine’s copy of Baby Mouse Burns Rubber.  Tara was so kind to Catherine, it made her night!  When we left she said to me, “Miss Hudson is my new bff.  I feel so inspired to go home and start writing.”  It was so fun.  She is only six and sometimes wants to be so grown up.  So, that was a true highlight of our week.  The best part for me was on Friday night as we were preparing for the return of the stinky (very stinky) boys, she turned to me and said, “Mommy, this was the best week of my life”!  Melt my heart!!

Oh…can’t forget the critter that made me scream like a girl…I am pretty sure that my boys brought it back in a bag….YUCK!!!  I am pretty sure I scared it back to where it came from!

Cheers!

    Thank you! She is 6 going on 16! It was amazing. Honestly did not have to discipline one time! It was a great time, but I missed my boys…not all the picking though, holy cow that can stay away!
